What is a Persian Fold?

What do you get when you cross a Persian with a Scottish Fold? One of the most adorable kitties in the world, not to mention most highly intelligent and trainable kitties ever!

These insanely cute designer kitties (1/2 Scottish Fold, 1/2 Persian) have little folded ears, which give them an adorable hoot-owl appearance. Bringing these two amazing gene pools together makes for one very hearty breed. Many Persian cats these days have been so closely line bred and even inbred to achieve the “show look” that registries have set forth. It has severely affected the beloved Persian cat’s overall health and life span. Adding a whole new gene pool to the picture strengthens every part of the animal. Much like our “Rug Hugger Persians” (1/2 Munchkin and 1/2 Persian), we began breeding over two decades ago. Many of our Rug Hugger Persians are now 18+ years old and going strong! We foresee this same outcome with our adorable Persian Folds!;)

These lop-eared beauties can be short-haired or long-haired (The type Taylor Swift has!).

They bring their highly intelligent, docile, and loyal personality traits to the table. 

Each of them is a true masterpiece, and no two are ever the same. Though they can sometimes remind you of Disney’s Eeyore with their visually sad appearance, these furry purry works of art are some of the silliest & most affectionate kitties known to man. Their charismatic personalities bring about a positive, feel-good energy that is simply contagious. We have found that the Persian Folds are very in tune with people’s inner emotions and comfort the soul with empathy when they’re having a bad day. Their ability to comfort “their humans” is almost mesmerizing. If they sense a person is upset or sad, they make their way onto your lap and gently tap your face as though to say, “It will all be okay”. They have their own way of speaking to your heart. It is so unique and heartwarming. The reason we chose the beloved Scottish fold to cross with a Persian: The Scottish Fold cat is gentle, brilliant, and docile. Remarkably adaptable and well-adjusted, the Scottish Fold cat is also very affectionate. And though it can get extremely attached to you, they will not be a pest or a nuisance. Like many other cats, it enjoys playing but also responds well to training & tricks, much like a puppy!;)
