Teenage Kittens
Who can resist a round-headed, doe-eyed, fluffy baby kitten? Of course, everyone loves the innocence of brand-new baby kittens just starting to toddle about clumsily. However, a tiny baby kitten might only be the right fit for some families. Sometimes, opening your heart and home to a slightly older teenage kitten makes for a smoother transition for the both of you!
Perks of getting a teenager
The term “kitten” refers to a feline one year and younger. We consider a kitten between the ages of 5 and 6 months, up to a year old, a “teenager.” There are many positive perks to purchasing an older kitten. New owners of a “teenager” will still form an unbreakable bond with their new feline friend quickly, and the transition period is typically the same. We all know that new kittens can sometimes play rough while still being taught manners. You could experience a nip or accidental scratch, although rest assured, a kitten never means to cause harm. A younger baby kitten might also have some separation anxiety and meow more frequently in an attempt to look for siblings or his/her mom. These behaviors are completely normal, and your kitten will be wonderful. Learning and adjusting to a newer environment takes time. While you still may wake from the occasional rowdy midnight acrobatics, a teenage kitten displays a calmer, much more relaxed disposition. As they have matured, much of the rough-and-tumble playtime has decreased. They have also learned better manners and require slightly less attention, “baby proofing,” and babysitting overall. Our teenage kittens also come fully vaccinated and will not need another vaccination until their one-year check 🙂 Not only do we offer a variety of coat colors, but we also have kittens of various ages.
Why are some older than others?
You might be asking yourself, “Why?” some kittens are older than others. While all our kittens eventually find loving homes forever, there are various things to consider. We never know what our customers might be looking for, so we offer the largest selection of coat colors. Sometimes, we may offer a more extensive selection of one particular color, although it is sometimes the luck of the draw when breeding. For this reason, it may take longer for all of those kittens to find homes. A lot of the time, we may be contemplating keeping a particular kitten back for a breeder, but we can’t quite make up our minds. We will keep him or her longer to better understand disposition, facial structure, and other essential factors. While we believe all our kittens are adorable gifts from God, each finds a home with time. We believe what is meant to be and will be, and finding a kitten a new forever home takes time and careful consideration.
