Meet Amina 

Every now and then, we have a kitten whose pictures make you stop scrolling for a second…and Amina is definitely one of those kittens.

Those eyes.

They are the most incredible shade of blue, and against her beautiful Golden Point coloring, they almost don’t look real. No matter how many times we see her, we still find ourselves stopping to admire them.

Amina is a Golden Point Himalayan Shorthair, and she is such a beautiful combination of everything we love about this look. Her short, plush coat has those soft, warm golden tones beginning to come through, and as she grows, her Golden Point coloring will continue to develop and become even more beautiful. But those gorgeous blue eyes are here to stay. 💙

As striking as Amina is, she’s not a little girl who simply sits around looking pretty.

She is curious, sweet, and wonderfully personable. She likes to know what’s happening around her and has already learned that following the humans usually leads to something interesting…or at the very least, a little extra attention.

One afternoon, I was sitting down, trying to get some work done, when Amina came over and sat directly in front of me. I gave her a little pet and went back to what I was doing.

Apparently, one pet was not the arrangement she had in mind. 😂

She moved closer.

I scratched her little head again.

A few seconds later, she moved even closer and just sat there staring up at me with those enormous blue eyes.

I tried very hard to ignore her.

I failed miserably. 😂💙

Before long, she was in my lap, completely content, while whatever I had been trying to accomplish was forgotten.

I remember looking down at her and thinking, “Well, you’ve certainly figured this out early.”

She doesn’t have to demand your attention. Somehow she just quietly wins it.

I can picture her becoming such a wonderful little companion—the kind of kitty who wants to know where her person is, settles nearby while they’re doing everyday things, and eventually becomes such a normal part of their routine that they can’t remember what the house felt like before her.

Of course, people are going to notice Amina because she’s beautiful.

They’re going to ask about those blue eyes.

They’re going to admire her unusual Golden Point coloring.

But I think the person who takes her home will eventually realize that the prettiest thing about Amina was never her coloring or even those breathtaking eyes.

It’s the sweet little soul looking through them. 💙

Somewhere out there is a lap that Amina hasn’t discovered yet…and I have a feeling once she does, she’s going to make herself right at home.
