Every once in a great while, a kitten comes along that simply has “it.” The kind that makes you stop scrolling. The kind you keep coming back to look at “just one more time.” The kind that quietly works her way into your heart before you’ve even realized what’s happening. That’s Anastasia!

To say she’s beautiful almost feels like an understatement. Her sleek, jet-black coat has a luxurious satin-like sheen that catches the light with every step she takes. It’s the kind of rich, glossy black that looks as though it has been lovingly polished by hand, giving her the appearance of a tiny black panther wrapped in velvet. As she grows, her eyes will gradually transform into rich, glowing copper—a breathtaking contrast against her ebony coat and one of the most striking color combinations the Persian breed has to offer. She’s the kind of kitten that turns heads. The kind strangers ask about.

The kind people remember. In nearly 40 years of raising Persians, black kittens have always been among our rarest colors. But a black Exotic Shorthair Persian? That’s something even we don’t get to admire very often. Truthfully, we have no idea when—or if—we’ll have another little girl like Anastasia this year. She is, without question, one of the rare treasures of our nursery.

But here’s the funny thing…As spectacular as she looks…She has absolutely no idea she’s so beautiful. Anastasia is convinced that life revolves around making friends. She’s never met a stranger, never turned down a cuddle, and never misses an opportunity to make someone smile. If love had a personality…It would look a lot like Anastasia. One of our favorite things about her is her adorable little head boops. They’re not accidental. They’re intentional. Whenever she sees someone walking by, she’ll stand up on her tiny little feet and patiently wait for them to lean down. Then…Boop. A gentle little forehead kiss that says, “There you are…I’ve been waiting for you.”

And if you happen to stop petting her before she’s ready? She’ll simply boop you again. It’s her sweet little way of saying, “Excuse me…I believe we’re still cuddling.”It’s impossible not to laugh. And even more impossible not to kiss that squishy little face. Anastasia has the happiest little spirit.

She’ll proudly follow you from room to room, curious about everything you’re doing, happily supervising household chores as though she’s been promoted to assistant manager. She wants to be involved in every conversation, every movie night, every lazy Sunday morning, and every quiet evening curled up beside the people she loves. She’s not just affectionate. She genuinely enjoys being part of your everyday life. Black cats have been treasured throughout history.

In many cultures, they’re believed to bring good luck, happiness, prosperity, and protection to the families fortunate enough to love them. Whether you believe the folklore or not…There’s something undeniably magical about sharing your home with a black cat. Maybe it’s their quiet elegance. Maybe it’s their captivating beauty.
