Meet Anastasia

Every once in a while, a kitten comes along that makes everyone in the nursery stop and say, “She’s really something special.” Anastasia has been that kitten from the very beginning.

We’ve been raising Persian kittens for nearly 40 years, and black kittens have always been one of our rarest colors. A black Exotic Shorthair Persian girl is even more uncommon, which makes this little lady extra special to us. Truthfully, we have no idea when we’ll have another one like her, so we’ve been soaking up every minute we get with her.

Of course, the first thing most people notice is how beautiful she is. Her jet-black coat has a gorgeous shine that almost looks like satin when the light hits it. As she grows, her eyes will slowly change into a rich copper color, creating one of the most striking color combinations the Persian breed has to offer. She has that classic teddy bear face that makes people stop scrolling, but pictures still don’t capture just how beautiful she is in person.

As much as we love looking at her, it’s her personality that has completely stolen our hearts.

Anastasia has never met a stranger. If someone walks into the nursery, she assumes they’re there to see her. She’ll happily trot over, rub against your legs, and wait for you to notice her. One of her favorite things in the world is giving little head boops. She’ll stretch up on those tiny feet, gently bump her forehead against yours, and then look up as if she’s saying, “Well…aren’t you going to pet me?” If you happen to stop before she’s ready, she’ll simply boop you again. It’s impossible not to smile when she does it.

She’s also one of those kittens who likes to be involved in everything. Whether we’re cleaning, folding laundry, taking pictures, or just sitting in the nursery visiting, Anastasia wants to know what everyone is doing. She’ll follow us from room to room, quietly keeping us company, and she’s perfectly happy as long as she gets to be part of the action. She has a wonderful balance of playful curiosity and affectionate companionship that makes her such an easy kitten to fall in love with.

People who have owned black cats often tell us the same thing—they’ll always have a black cat. We completely understand why. There’s something so elegant about them, but they’re also known for being incredibly loving companions. Anastasia fits that description perfectly. She’s beautiful, sweet, funny, and has the kind of personality that quietly becomes part of your daily life before you even realize how attached you’ve become.

We already know we’re going to miss this little girl. We’ll miss the head boops, the way she follows us around the nursery, and the little happy purr she gives whenever she’s picked up. More than anything, though, we’ll miss seeing the joy she brings into every room she walks into.

Some kittens are easy to admire.

Anastasia is easy to love.

And we have a feeling the family lucky enough to bring her home is going to understand exactly what we mean.
